KATHY HENDRICKSON
OF WIGS-N-MORE. INC. RECEIVES CERTIFICATION
FOR RADIANT IMPRESSIONS -
AN OPTION FOR BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS
Radiant Impressions is proud to announce
Kathleen Hendrickson of Wigs-N-More has received her certification
for the procedure of casting for our custom breast
prosthesis. Radiant Impressions art studio is located
in Lexington, KY. Kathy recently attended an extensive
training program to learn the procedure of casting
chest walls of breast cancer survivors. After the
molds are completed, the casts are sent to our professional
sculptors who hand carve and paint a custom breast
designed for each individual lady.
The custom prosthesis mimics
the weight, feel and look of real breast tissue. The
custom can be worn in a regular bra and swimsuit.
Over 20 skin tone colors are available providing African
Americans and women of color something to match their
body. Radiant Impressions gives women a restored sense
of wholeness. It is a great option over invasive surgery.
Custom nipples can be made for reconstructed breast.
One out of every seven
women will be affected by breast cancer at some point
in their life. Mastectomies and lumpectomies are performed
daily.
Wigs-N-More is dedicated
to improving life for the ladies who will undergo
breast surgery in the future or have been a survivor.
Kathy, a Certified Caster and experienced mastectomy
fitter takes time with each lady to fit her needs
in breast care products.
The mission ofWigs-N-More
in Latrobe, PA is to provide the custom prosthesis,
lightweight breast forms, stylish lacy bras and accessories
in a wide selection of sizes and styles to restore
comfort and confidence after breast surgery.
Many ladies do not realize
all the products that are available. Partials and
fillers are now used for lumpectomy and reconstruction
surgeries. After a period of time, gravity takes over
on breast tissue and if reconstruction was done on
one side, then ladies will need to wear some type
of partial to accommodate for the aging process. Ladies
want their breast to match and have a natural appearance.
Kathy will find the right shape and size to give
symmetry.
The industry has come along
way since the early days of foam and liquid filled
breast forms. Wigs-N-More offers the latest innovative
and unique silicone breast forms, which closely resemble
the natural breast in shape, texture and movement.
An attachable form that can be worn without a bra
is available. Wigs-N-More offers the best in quality
by Trulife. Trulife, formerly CAMP Healthcare was
the pioneer for inventing the first breast form in
1961. Prior to that date, ladies wore socks stuffed
with rice or washcloths in their bras to fill the
void.
The importance of a woman's health and appearance,
both physical and psychological has become a focus
for today's healthcare in women. Today more feminine
designs and unique products allow breast cancer ladies
to maintain a normal lifestyle of swimming, golfmg,
exercising, tennis, etc..
Wigs-N-More is servicing
customers through education. Many people do not know
what is available to them through their Medicare,
Medicaid or private insurance. Medicare and most private
insurances have realized the importance of providing
breast forms to prevent shoulder drop, spinal curvature
or back pain and will pay for prosthesis, bras and
some accessories every year. Camisoles with drain
pouches to wear during the healing process are available
for ladies if they will come in or call for an appointment
for a free consultation before or immediately after
surgery.
Wigs-N-More offers a very,
private fitting room with a caring, compassionate
staff to assist ladies during their fitting. The boutique
takes care of breast cancer ladies throughout Pennsylvania.
They make it as easy as possible for the patient.
They will take care of getting the prescription and
necessary documentation for insurance filing.
